National Blind Children's Society Our Mission, Vision and Work Mission Our mission is to enable blind and partially sighted children and young people to achieve their educational and recreational goals. Vision Our vision is a world where blind and partially sighted children have an equal opportunity to the provision of education, which is adequately supported with sources of information provided in a suitable format for their needs, and where there are no barriers to sports and recreational activities. Our Work The National Blind Children's Society’s objective is to enable children and young people with visual impairment to achieve their educational and recreational goals. Our vision is a world where children with a visual impairment have an equal opportunity to the provision of education, which is adequately supported with sources of information provided in a suitable format for their needs and where there are no barriers to sports and recreational activities. We offer help and support from the moment a child is diagnosed, usually at birth, through each key stage of their education to the age of twenty-five. By working in collaboration with other organisations and professionals associated with visual impairment NBCS offer five ‘Key Services’ which are provided either free or at a nominal charge these are:
The National Blind Children’s Society relies on voluntary donations from individuals, companies and grant-making trusts. We do not receive any statutory funding at all. | ||
